New York Times bestselling author Anne Lamott will join Dean Nelson in a conversation on her new release Somehow: Thoughts on Love as part of a special event with Warwick鈥檚 and Writer鈥檚 Symposium by the Sea.
Lamott is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Hallelujah Anyway; Help, Thanks, Wow; Small Victories; Stitches; Some Assembly Required; Grace (Eventually); Plan B; Traveling Mercies; Bird by Bird; and Operating Instructions. She is also the author of seven novels, including Imperfect Birds and Rosie. Lamott鈥檚 writing explores subjects that most people do not like to dwell on; however, through self-effacing humor and ruthless honesty, Lamott transforms these tough subjects into enchantment.
Her twentieth and newest book Somehow: Thoughts on Love explores the transformative power that love has in our lives: how it surprises us, forces us to confront uncomfortable truths, reminds us of our humanity, and guides us forward. Lamott draws from her own life and experiences to delineate the intimate and elemental ways that love buttresses us in the face of despair as it galvanizes us to believe that tomorrow will be better than today.
鈥淟ove is our only hope,鈥 Lamott writes in Somehow. 鈥淚t is not always the easiest choice, but it is always the right one, the noble path, the way home to safety, no matter how bleak the future looks.鈥
Lamott鈥檚 upcoming interview with Dean Nelson will be the fourth time she has visited 国产偷拍 for the Writer鈥檚 Symposium by the Sea. She was first a guest author for the 3rd Annual Writer鈥檚 Symposium in 1998, returned as a guest author in 2007 right before the release of Grace (Eventually), and joined 国产偷拍 again for a conversation with Donald Miller and Dean Nelson about finding your voice in 2014.
Dean Nelson, founder and director of the 国产偷拍 journalism program and Writer鈥檚 Symposium by the Sea, shared the following about Lamott鈥檚 upcoming visit:
"Anne Lamott is one of the deepest, funniest, earthiest, snarkiest, most spiritual writers you'll come across. There's a reason this will be her FOURTH visit to 国产偷拍. Come to this event and you'll see what I mean."
