Reporting a Crime
If a crime is in progress or you notice a suspicious person on campus, please report it immediately to Public Safety at (619) 849-2525 or by calling 911.
Crimes occurring on ¹ú²ú͵ÅÄ property can be reported to Public Safety in person, by telephone, or through email. An officer will attempt to respond in a timely manner and complete an incident report. On- and off-campus crimes should also be promptly reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Safety and Security Tips Â
We recommend you take the following steps to ensure your safety and success at ¹ú²ú͵ÅÄ:
Secure your belongings. Thefts of laptops, smartphones, and wallets are not uncommon. Lock residence hall rooms and offices and do not leave valuables unsecured and unattended. Secure bicycles using a u-lock-type device and register it with Public Safety.
Save the Public Safety emergency number (619) 849-2525 to your phone. Call to report a crime or suspicious activity, or to request an escort or other assistance.
Verify your mobile phone number is accurately listed in Workday. Text messages are the primary method ¹ú²ú͵ÅÄ uses to communicate information during a campus emergency.

Annual Security Report
In 1990, Congress enacted the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act (Title II of Public Law 101-542). Also known as the Jeanne Clery Act, this act required all post-secondary institutions participating in Title IV student financial aid programs to disclose campus crime statistics and security and safety information. In compliance with Clery Act requirements, ¹ú²ú͵ÅÄ makes its policies available and disseminates incident statistics to the campus community. Clery Act campus statistics are compiled for the previous calendar year and posted the following October.
